Lodging Expansions Lead the Way in Kalispell for 2024
New Hotels, Remodels and Distinct Properties Open in Northwest Montana
Tuesday, January 16, 2024—Kalispell, Montana—Located between Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park, Kalispell – the hub of Montana’s Flathead Valley – has welcomed two new lodging properties, as well as remodeled facilities for 2024.
“While Kalispell has been a destination for travelers for years, our mountain town continues to strategically and sustainably grow, from new hotels to restaurants and amenities for visitors and locals alike,” said Diane Medler, Executive Director of Discover Kalispell.
Here’s what is happening in 2024:
- New Lodging. Two new properties – Six40Lofts and Switchback Suites – are the latest lodging additions to Kalispell. Switchback Suites has eight distinct rooms and suites with Montana themes, like Mount Cleveland Suite, Blacktail Mountain Suite and Mount Jackson Studio.
In remodel news, the Hilton Garden Inn completed a full renovation in 2023, Hampton Inn Kalispell has newly remodeled guest rooms and the Kalispell Grand is completing its lobby remodel. For travelers looking for additional boutique lodging, Clark Farm Silos – which is 10 minutes from downtown Kalispell – offers lodging in five grain bins, complete with views of the Swan Mountains.
- Glacier National Park Reservation Updates. The Crown of the Continent, Glacier National Park, has been testing a pilot vehicle reservation system for the last few years and is implementing new changes for 2024. From May 24-September 8, vehicle reservations will only be needed for the park’s west entrance (checkpoint near Apgar Campground) and the North Fork. From July 1-September 18, a vehicle reservation is needed for Many Glacier. All reservations are available for one day. No reservations are needed for the Going-to-the-Sun Road’s east entrance at St. Mary, Apgar Village or Two Medicine.
- Bon Appetit, Kalispell. Freestone Restaurant and Bull Trout Bar & Casino is the latest addition to Kalispell’s ever-growing culinary scene. Menu items include bone marrow, bison, walleye and steak, while all dishes use as many locally sourced items as possible. The Dusty Star Saloon leans into casual – but delicious – fare in a Western-inspired setting, with pulled pork, burgers and steak.
- Indoor Activities Expand. While Kalispell is an outdoor-lover’s playground, it recently welcomed a few indoor-focused businesses, expanding Kalispell’s year-round offerings. Clubhouse Lounge brings the game of golf within four walls with its four top-of-the-line golf stimulators, while Glacier Racing Simulators has racing options in historic cars beneath the historic KM Building downtown. Rounding out the new additions is Games N Tap, a family-friendly destination with an array of activities like arcade games, billiards and live music, as well as a robust food and drink menu.
- Tour Operator Offers Tours in Northwest Montana. Western Pleasure Tours – a custom tour operator that focuses on the West – is offering services and tours in Kalispell and northwest Montana. They specialize in groups of 10-100, with services that include step-on guides, motorcoach charters, convention services and day tours.
