Fall has officially arrived in northwest Montana, bringing with it beautiful sunny days, crisp nights and an array of flavors. When it comes to tasting fall, there’s no better place to dig in than Kalispell. With a robust culinary scene, it’s easy to find something fall inspired to sip, eat and enjoy. In Kalispell, our restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and craft beverage makers offer seasonal, limited-time offerings to ensure that residents and visitors alike can taste the rich flavors of autumn.

To help guide your culinary tour of fall 2025, here are nine places to try:

1. Sacred Waters Brewing. Try not one but two fall-focused beers: meet little salmon fire and waving bear. The little salmon fire is a chile pepper ale, made with poblano, serrano and habanero peppers. Fun fact: it’s won gold medals. The waving bear is a cherry sour that was brought to fruition in oak barrels before being conditioned over cherries to create its tangy, complex and delicious profile.

2. Casa Mexico. Family-owned and -operated, Casa Mexico has been serving up delicious Mexican classics since 2001. One to try: chicken en mole. This dish features tender chicken, mild chilies, aromatic spices and the perfect balance of sweet and savory, featuring cinnamon and cloves. Pair the mole with a fall-themed cocktail, like an amber apple margarita, pomegranate margarita, cranberry mezcalita, pumpkin delight or autumn mule. @casamexicomt on Instagram

3. Tamarack Alehouse & Grill. Located a short drive south of Kalispell, you can find fall food and drinks at Tamarack. Try the elk snort scotch ale, released to bring luck during hunting season. Sip it on its own or dig into one of their seemingly made for fall menu items like the baked brie salad, bison enchiladas or smoked bacon mac n’ cheese.

4. Water’s Edge Winery. Sip and taste fall at Water’s Edge, with their turkey, brie and cranberry panini served on sourdough bread. We recommend pairing it with the love dove bubbly (we love it as it’s dry and crisp, with the perfect amount of bubbles).

5. Bias Brewing. Their location on Main Street in one of Kalispell’s historic buildings is a great place to enjoy an attic window pumpkin ale. The beer is a classic pale ale, with pumpkin pie spices added toward the end of the fermentation process. @biasbrewing on Instagram

6. Glacier Distilling Company. If you enjoy baked apple, caramel, spice and whiskey, be sure to pick up a bottle of gold miner apple brandy (or enjoy a cocktail in Glacier Distilling Company’s tasting room in Coram). This brandy is worth the wait – it’s made with honeycrisp apples from Rollins and aged in oak barrels for three years. Want to taste even more of fall? Try the pear eau de vie brandy, with 14 pounds of pears (raised on the shore of Flathead Lake) in each bottle. An added bonus: they have recipes on their website, which makes it easy to snag a bottle and make a pear cocktail at home.

7. Big Mountain Cider Works. Combine a hearty salad (like the apple butternut squash salad) or an apple bacon grilled cheese from their menu with a snow devil cider. It’s sweet, easy to drink and has just a touch of cinnamon. Or snack on the Bavarian pretzel sticks, served with savory cheese. Be sure to ask for their house-made mustard sauce. An added bonus: Big Mountain Cider Works has an onsite orchard where they grow and source apples for their made-right-here ciders.

8. Bonjour Bakery & Bistro. A must stop in Kalispell, Bonjour is a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or a snack break. When it comes to fall treats, they have a nice selection that includes apple caramel danishes, pumpkin macarons, pumpkin scones and seasonal cupcakes. @bonjourbakeryandbistro on Instagram

9. Skyes Diner. A favorite among locals, dig into fall with their caramel pecan French toast of caramel pecan waffle. Round it out with a slice of pecan pie.

Additional flavors of fall can be found at Wheat Montana (try their hazelnut mocha, cinnamon roll latte or iced maple cold brew), Sable Coffee (dig into a pumpkin scone and sip on a caramel apple lotus) or City Brew Coffee (our mouths are watering thinking about their apple-filled donuts and pumpkin white mocha). Or, if you want to fill up your tummy on some grub, try the pretzel sticks and queso or the elk brat and fries at The Sitting Duck.
