Here in Kalispell, Montana, we’re fortunate to have four distinct seasons, each bringing its own set of activities, offerings and experiences to our mountain town and the surrounding area. And while we love the weather that comes with the seasons, believe us when we tell you that we understand the feelings that come when rain or snow infringes on your plans.

To help make the most of your time in our corner of Montana, we’ve put together a guide to five of the best indoor activities in Kalispell.

1) Visit Three Museums

While our community isn’t large, it is brimming with arts and culture, including three distinct indoor museums that are ready and waiting to introduce you to various facets of Kalispell. Start with a deep dive into the history of the region at the Northwest Montana History Museum. Located in a historic building downtown, the museum has a variety of exhibits that include American Indian history, Glacier National Park and northwest Montana. Next up, head to the Conrad Mansion Museum for a docent-led tour of the home of Kalispell’s modern-day founder Charles E. Conrad, his wife Lettie and their children. Round out your museum tour with a visit to the Hockaday Museum of Art. Housed in a historic Carnegie library building, the Hockaday helps preserve and tell the story of the culture of Kalispell, Montana’s Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park.

Insider tip: while you can take a self-guided tour of the Conrad Mansion Museum, docent-led tours are the best way to take a deep dive into the history.

2) Golf Indoors

While golf is typically reserved for warm weather, you can golf year-round in Kalispell at Clubhouse Lounge, an indoor golf simulator. With four top-of-the-line indoor golf simulators, it’s a great place to keep up on your golf game, while escaping the weather outside. An added bonus: you can enjoy adult beverages and burgers, made with locally sourced beef.

3) Escape Outside Inside

Made for bonding – or to get out some rage – check out Hidden Key Escape Games. Home to both an escape room and a rage room, this is the place for team building, date night or quality family time.

4) Play to Your Heart’s Content

Perfect for family fun, Games N Tap is the ideal place to enjoy bowling, arcade games, pool, darts and more. They also have a variety of items to enjoy, including drinks, wings, burgers, salads, pizza and a kids menu.

Insider tip: Check out their assortment of Montana-brewed beers on tap.

5) Race

A great place for getting out of the weather, Glacier Racing Simulators is located in downtown Kalispell. With their race car simulators, you can go head to head with your friends, family and more, all while putting your real-life driving skills to the test.

Additional indoor activities include sipping on local-made beer at one of Kalispell’s breweries, shopping local, digging into tasty grub or creating your own lotion at Sage & Cedar.
