January through February

The 23rd edition of this popular speaker series runs over four Sundays in January and February 2025. Hear from Montana’s Troubador Jack Gladstone, an anthropologist-ethnohistorian Sally Thompson, traditional knowledge keepers Aspen and Cameron Decker, and a storyteller of amazing natural history Denny Olson.

November – March:

Rodeo has been a part of Montana’s culture since the first cowboys arrived over 150 years ago. This event includes bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer riding, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, calf roping, and chute dogging. Brash Rodeo is Western Montana’s longest-running series open rodeo.

The Cabin Fever Days is a local non-profit fundraiser, which benefits the Canyon QRU (Quick Response Unit), Martin City Volunteer Fire Department, Canyon Kids Christmas Fund and the Canyon Community Group and more! Not only is Cabin Fever Days a great time, but it’s also for a great cause. Cabin Fever Days Events take place in Martin City, Hungry Horse, and Coram, Montana. The Barstool Ski Races are right on Central Avenue in Martin City. The street is closed to traffic and covered with snow. The raceway is lined with hay bales to keep the crowds at bay. Many additional activities such a music, competitions and more occur at the several taverns in Bad Rock Canyon – Stonefly Lounge, Packers Roost, Southfork Saloon, Deerlick Saloon, and the Dam Town Tavern.

Cabin Fever Days events begin Friday, February 14th, and continue until Sunday, February 16th. The World Championship Barstool Ski Races on Sugar Hill is on Saturday, February 15th. 

SkiJoring is a timed winter team sport in which a horse and rider pull a skier at high speed on a racecourse with jumps, gates and rings the skier has to navigate. Over the past 10 years, this sport has exploded nationwide with races held almost every weekend throughout the winter. The majority of races are in Montana, Colorado, Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Whitefish Skijoring in Kalispell is an exhilarating event bringing together the horse world and the ski world on February 22 through 24, 2025 with games with drinks, food, fire, horses, and skiers!

Get ready to paint the town green at Brannigan’s Pub and join the exciting St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza from March 14 through 17, 2025. Live music, great fun, costume contests, and the best Irish food around, including traditional dishes like corned beef and cabbage, pasties, and bangers and mash. The Montana State High School Rodeo Finals are making Kalispell their home for the next four years. The finals are scheduled for June 2-7, 2025, at the Majestic Valley Arena. Approximately 200 of the state’s top high school rodeo athletes and their families from across Montana will be in the Flathead the first week in June. After state finals, the top four go on to represent Montana at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs Wyoming. More information on the schedule can be found on the MHSRA website.
