Rodeo has been an integral part of Montana’s culture since the arrival of the first cowboys over 150 years ago. Events include bull riding, bronc riding, chute dogging, roping, barrel racing, and steer riding. The Brash Rodeo is Montana’s longest-running series of open rodeos. JULY 10-12, 2026

Arts in the Park is an annual festival in Kalispell’s historic Depot Park, celebrating arts, crafts, and music with over 80 artists from across the country. Attendees can explore high-quality handmade items like paintings, jewelry, and ceramics.

June 8-13, 2026

The Montana State High School Rodeo Finals are making Kalispell their home for the next four years. The finals are scheduled for June 8-13, 2026, at the Majestic Valley Arena. Approximately 200 of the state’s top high school rodeo athletes and their families from across Montana will be in the Flathead the first week in June. After state finals, the top four go on to represent Montana at the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs Wyoming. More information on the schedule can be found on the MHSRA website.

August 12-16, 2026

Experience the heritage and homestyle at the NWMT Fair. With over 100 years of tradition, the Montana Fair & Rodeo comes alive each year for a week in August. It features three nights of PRCA Rodeo action, outdoor music, down-home exhibits, carnival rides, and great food.

May through October

The Kalispell Farmers Market offers the freshest produce grown in the Flathead Valley and an array of locally-made goods. Every Saturday during the summer and fall from 9 am to 12:30 pm, find local farmers selling everything from meat and eggs, fruits and vegetables to baked goods to native plants and trees. Shop for handmade jewelry, pottery, soaps, paintings, and many more creations by the region’s talented artisans.

June through August

Discover the enchanting world of lavender in our 2-hour workshop! The session starts with a hands-on tutorial on harvesting lavender and concludes with the production of lavender essential oil. Each participant will take home a 10ml bottle of lavender essential oil and a fresh bouquet of lavender that you picked. Please remember to wear outdoor garden clothes and appropriate shoes, as this is a hands-on experience. Workshops are held every Tuesday and Thursday from June through August 13.
