While there are a handful of wildland fires burning in Montana, travel and activities are not affected in Kalispell. No matter where you travel in the state, be sure to do your part to prevent fires. Extinguish campfires completely, properly dispose of matches/cigarette butts in a closed container and don't park in dry grass. If you're towing anything, be sure chains are not dragging.

Help us keep Montana's wildlife wild by being bear aware. Check out the tips below...
1. Carry (and know how to use) bear spray.
2. Do not feed bears, or any other wildlife for that matter.
3. Give bears their space. Never approach them or do not make any efforts to get close to them.
4. If you're hiking, hike with a buddy, pal or talkative friend. Be sure to talk - loudly - as you make your way along trails and through the backcountry.
5. If you’re camping, be sure you know how to recreate responsibly (and everything that comes along with it).
