Music, Rodeos and More

When it comes to rounding out your meeting or event, there’s one element that’s sure to please: entertainment. And in Kalispell, a city that’s rich in Western history and lively culture, there are plenty of options to experience the rhythm and soul of the Flathead Valley. Plus, with our watering holes and local breweries, it’s easy for your meeting attendees to catch live music from locals all throughout their stay.

For groups of any sizes, Kalispell is home to a Montana-grown musicians, including Halladay QuistMike Murray and Kenny James Miller Band. Each has their own style of music, from sweet melodies to boot-stomping tunes and everything in between and are sure to be a great addition to an evening reception, cocktail hour or banquet.

There are also a handful of performers who tell the story of Montana through their musical stylings. Of note: David Walburn , Jack Gladstone and the Fosberys—a husband and wife team who entertain on the fiddle and guitar. Walburn specializes in telling the stories of the American West, with original songs that bring the past to life. Gladstone—a enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe—is often called “Montana’s Troubadour” and his songs include narratives that share tales of the West and American Indian history. Meanwhile, Judy and Terry Fosberry bring old-time country music to life.

While Kalispell has abundant local musical options for entertaining, there’s a tried and true Montana experience that’s sure to add a dose of adrenaline-inducing authentic Western fun to your meeting: a rodeo.

Throughout Montana and the West, rodeos are a staple activity and occur regularly. Here in Kalispell, the rodeo options are endless and include making a regular rodeo—like Brash Rodeo or Majestic Valley Arena events—part of your schedule, arranging for a private section to take in the rodeo’s performances, working with the announcer to welcome your group, meet local rodeo athletes and even do a line dancing lesson after the rodeo.

With entertainment options that are seemingly endless, your meeting attendees will be ready to meet underneath that big Montana sky.
